Avatar 2 movie sequel is set to release on: 18 Dec 2020
123movies is proud to present “Avatar 2” the long-awaited sequel review and release date.
Cameron has teased us with a promised two sequels, later bumping that up to three, and then again to four, which are set to film back-to-back. It’s a tale of delays and woe, but it still looks like the second Avatar sequel is coming, eventually…
Here’s everything you need to know as you wait to return to the alien landscape of Pandora.
The story of the development of the second sequel of Avatar (which probably won’t be its final name) was delayed. Filming was expected to finally begin in April of 2016 but that just didn’t happen.
“Our focus isn’t only on this sequel of avatar. Our focus is also on Avatars 2, 3, 4 and 5 equally. They’ve all been developed equally,” Cameron told The Daily Beast.
“I’ve just finished the script to Avatar 5. I’m now starting the process of active prep. I’ll be working with the actors in the capture volume in August, so I’m booked in production every day between now and then.”
True to that statement, Zoe Saldana has confirmed that she’s already finished filming on James Cameron’s Avatars 2 and 3.
This sequel of Avatar is meant to explore the oceans of Pandora, which is why James Cameron has been hyping up the sequel’s extensive underwater sequences. According to Stephen Lang, the second sequel of Avatar and its underwater sequences are like Avatar “on steroids,” which is only possible because Cameron seems to have cracked the code on filming motion-capture underwater for the first time in film history. The cast and crew, including the likes of Kate Winslet and Sigourney Weaver, have mentioned that they had to learn both free-diving and scuba diving for their roles in this sequel of Avatar.
